Scanlan and Breayley take out top awards at Norths Seniors & Womens rugby league presentation night

Chris Scanlan has done it again, winning the prizes of  A-Grade Player of the Year and Best Defender in the Club for the second consecutive year at Saturday’s presentation night.

To top it off, Scanlan received the prestigious honour of receiving a Norths ring. This is an award that is not presented every year and only awarded to those who have shown true Tiger Spirit, being able to bring something to the club that not everyone can. Anyone with one of these rings has been and will continue to be a long serving member of this club for many years to come.

Tonga Mounga took out the title for best back in the club while Jacob Stephan was named the club’s best forward.

Brittany Breayley topped off an outstanding personal season by taking out the women’s A Grade Best and Fairest award.

Below is the full list of award winners-

ROD KELLY OLD BOYS PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARD

Think of Rod Kelly and you immediately think of a hard playing, hard working and hard drinking member of Northern Suburbs. Rod had a passion for the club most people will not understand. He was an inaugural member of Norths Old Boys and was instrumental in organizing golf and bowls days as well as building the beer garden and can bar at the club. As the Old boys President, Rod wanted to give something to the A Grade Player of the year and it is a much sort after award at the club.
