Team Lists v West End, Round 18 IRL 2015

Last weekend’s 38-26 loss to Goodna has seen Norths slip from first position, which we’ve held the majority of 2015, to second. Goodna only need to beat Swifts on Sunday to claim the minor premiership, while a Goodna loss and a Tigers win over West End will see the Tigers back at number one spot.

The first week of A-Grade finals are already decided despite this final round still to play. Goodna and Norths will clash on Sunday 6 September at the North Ipswich Reserve for the first spot in the Grand Final, while West End and Brothers will meet on Satuday 5 September in an elimination final.

With the finals path secure, the Tigers will be looking for a morale boosting win this weekend against West End.

With the retirement of Brendon Lindsay last week due to concussion concerns, Tigers inspirational leader Josh Roberts will return in his favoured number 6 jersey and partner Steven West in the halves. Roberts’ inclusion is sure to boost the Tigers and will see Norths run out a full strength lineup for the first time in over a month.

Our Reserve Grade side face a tough clash against West End to decide fifth place, with neither team able to finish any higher and advance into the finals. The Under 19s won’t have a game this weekend due to West End’s forfeit, which will ensure they finish third and therefore play finals in a couple of weeks’ time. Unfortunately our Second Division side lost their elimination finals match last week.

A lackluster interchange forward who was part of the victorious Norths Tigers 2014 IRL A-Grade premiership team. Illustrious achievements include "Most Versatile Player Award" in Under 18s and was once named "player's player".
