There’s a big day ahead this Sunday at Norths as A-Grade take on Fassifern Bombers while Reserve Grade and Under 19s will take on the Eastern Cobras. Our Second Division team take on the Bears tonight at Norths, so make sure you head down to the club for a nice warm meal and a cold beverage while watching some quality footy.
Norths were too strong for Brothers last week in A-Grade, claiming victory 27-14 and with it the Matthew Dennis Shield. See the QT game report here >
Norths now sit 2 points clear of Goodna in first place on the league ladder, having lost only two games this season. It’s quite the opposite for Fassifern, who’ve only claimed 2 wins so far in 2015, however coach Mick Newton will have his chargers primed for another close clash against the Bombers.
This week sees the return of Tim Newton to the A-Grade side for the first time since last year’s Grand Final. “Moose” has been playing the last couple of weeks in Reserve Grade as he comes back from off-season surgery and will be a welcome addition to the top grade. Named at centre last week in Reserve Grade, there were rumours the famous “Timmy Shimmy” would be in full flight however it was never going to be enough to displace anyone in the red-hot A-Grade backline – so it’s back to the front row for Tim.
IRL 2014 grand final poster boy Stephen Kafer has been named on the Tigers bench. Not normally a fan of playing anything less than 80 minutes, the elusive hole running second rower might just be the X-Factor coach Mick Newton needs to boost the Tigers.
Get down to Norths this weekend and cheer on the Tigers!
