Only three weeks remain in the regular season of Ipswich Rugby League this year. This weekend Norths take on Fassifern out at Hayes Oval, which will be followed by our final home game against Goodna next weekend before taking on West End in the final round.

Last Sunday an injury-struck Tigers went down to Brothers 38-34. After being in front 18-0 it seemed the young Tigers side would run away with it but Brothers clawed back into the contest and the somewhat inexperienced Tigers fell out of the game.

This week the A-Grade team welcomes back props Jacob Stephan and Tim Newton (personal reasons) as well as Stephen Kafer (holiday – no proposal) and Kane Fuller (injury). The Tigers will again be without the services of captain Josh Roberts and five-eight Brendon Lindsay, both with minor injuries that kept them out of the Brothers game last week.

In Roberts’ absence Chris Scanlan will again lead out the Tigers and move from lock to five-eight to cover Lindsay.

Our final home game will be against Goodna next Sunday 16 August so mark that one in your diary! The Tigers haven’t managed to beat Goodna in the previous two clashes this year so it will be a cracking game between the current top two A-Grade sides.
