Team Lists: IRL Round 5 2017 v Brothers

Here we are at Round Five in what should have been a mouth watering match up against Brothers.

My mother always told me that if I had nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all. So I’m not going to talk at all about the fact our players, volunteers and supporters are expected to front up and play on the Thursday night before the Easter break in what for some IRL teams is their third game of footy in eight days. Not even going to mention it.

Nor will I mention that our A-Grade side will be playing while our Reserve Grade side and Under 19s side also do battle against Brothers. All because we can’t let our beloved local rugby league competition have a week off for Easter, which had been the case for donkeys.

Anyway, in a positive of this diabolical situation, our A-Grade side had the bye last weekend after their Wednesday night make-up game against West End, while Brothers will be one of those teams previously mentioned who now face their third game in eight days this Thursday night.

Our Reserve Grade side managed a 24-18 win last weekend over Valleys Dragons while unfortunately the Under 19s had no game in the end after a Dragons forfeit. Our Reserve Grade side sit in tied first position with Goodna, both teams with a 3-0 record to start 2017.

If you’re not sneaking off Thursday evening like myself to begin your Easter holidays, please get out and support our Tigers.

Glory, glory to the tigers!

A lackluster interchange forward who was part of the victorious Norths Tigers 2014 IRL A-Grade premiership team. Illustrious achievements include "Most Versatile Player Award" in Under 18s and was once named "player's player".
