The final round of the the regular rugby league season in Ipswich is upon us.
A-Grade will take on Fassifern, who have the minor premiership locked up, with Goodna securing second with their last minute try over Norths last weekend, beating the Tigers 36-30 in a gallant effort from our Tigers.
A-Grade will finish third and Swifts fourth to make up the finals series. This weekend’s game is another great test for A-Grade as they take on Fassifern out at Harrisville.
Our Reserve Grade side handed ladder-leaders Goodna just their second loss of 2017 last weekend, 36-16. A great effort by the boys last weekend will need to be repeated as a finals spot is not guaranteed. Fassifern sit in third on 42 points, with Norths fourth on 41, and then Swifts are also looking to squeeze into the four on 40. Goodna and Brothers will finish first and second respectively.
Our Under 19s loss to Goodna (48-26) last weekend has seen them drop from box-seat minor premiership contenders to third. Sitting on 50 points, they trail Goodna (52) and Brothers (51). Goodna and Brothers face off this weekend in a minor premiership show-down, however Norths would be hoping for a Brothers loss to give them a chance of a top-two finish.
It is also the final round of the Open Women’s regular season, with our girls taking on Caboolture at Caboolutre. A win would see the Tigress’ finish in fifth place, but a finals finish (fourth) is not possible.
Some quality contests this weekend – you could say finals has come early! If you can get in a car or a horse and cart get out and support our Tigers this weekend.
Glory glory to the Tigers!
