Hello once more,
Another quick update as we hurtle through the finals series.
Sadly our A Grade side were defeated in their Mid-Week Replay of their Semi-Final on Wednesday night. The boys put in a good effort but couldn’t reproduce their form from Saturday as they fell 19 points to 12 to Goodna. Every player can hold their head high though knowing that they have played in one of the most epic finals encounters the Ipswich Rugby League have ever seen. After 190 minutes it was only 7 points that separated the two sides and the spirit and manner in which the boys played is something they can be proud of. Commiseration to the lads on the loss and congratulations on a well fought season. Thanks to Boss, Cliffy, Joey and all the players and other staff who have helped out with our A Grade squad throughout Season 2013.
On to the more positive news. Sunday will see our Under 18s take on Redbank Plains Bears at 11.45am at The Oval. This is a do-or-die encounter for our colts as they will be looking to bounce back into form. The boys will no doubt go into this one expecting a tough battle after the Bears ran up a score on us in the second to last round. I’m confident that Mick, Doylie and Brett will have the lads prepared and ready for the challenge as we look to make our way into the Grand Final.
With our C Grade side already through to their Grand Final on Friday the 6th and our 18s looking to qualify for the Grand Final Sunday there is still plenty of football action to come.
Best of luck to the Under 18s on Sunday, I hope to see you all at The Oval as we look to cheer our boys on to victory and into the Grand Final.
