Hello folks,
I know it has been far too long between updates and I apologise for that. Between changes in our committee and me being stuck in Mt Isa for work this last month it has made for a hectic little period in Tiger Town.
All of our teams have had mixed results so far with a few good wins and a couple of disappointing losses. Our A grade are sitting just outside the top four with a 2-4 record, Reserve grade are also sitting in fifth place with a 1W-4L-1D record, Under 18s are just in the top four and coming along nicely under Mick Newton’s tutelage with a 4W-2L record and our C grade side is travelling nicely in second position on the Open 2’s ladder with a 2W-1L-1Bye record.
This weekend we have our C grade side taking on Lowood Stags at Lowood on Saturday evening at 530pm. Sunday North’s will host 3 games; Under 18s against West End at midday, B grade against Fassifern at 130pm and A grade against Fassifern at 3pm. I hope everyone has a chance to come down and cheer our boys on as we start clawing our way up the ladder.

I’d like to thank everyone who kept North’s ticking over in my absence over the last 6 weeks or so, especially David Haug and Kurt McLean who went above and beyond to help out as always. I’d also like to thank Michelle and Jess for their time and efforts on the committee this year and wish Jess all the best in her new role at the Jets. A special thank you must also go to Bec and Tracy for stepping up and taking on the roles of treasurer and secretary for the remainder of the season. I hope that we can soon return to some form of normalcy and get things back into full swing. I see great things ahead for our great club and with a little hard work and a team effort the Tigers will be back flying high in no time.
Save the date – Sunday 02/06/2013 – next weekend sees The Mighty Norths Tigers take on Swifts at Cribb Park for the annual Harry Langer Day celebration. The day will see things start off with a representative schoolboys fixture between Ipswich Hornets and Toowoomba followed by our C grade (against Springfield), Reserve grade and A grade fixtures and we hope to be able to announce, early next week, one final game following the A grade clash that evening. With Swifts coming back strong this year the day is sure to see some great contests and be a real test for our boys in all grades.
Now that things are settling back into rhythm I’ll ensure our team updates return to being a weekly affair. Thanks for your patience as we get through some early teething problems with our return home after two long years away. And once more a huge thankyou to all our wonderful sponsors, supporters and volunteers for all of their efforts. I look forward to seeing you all at our games in the near future.
Cheers and as always,
Up the Tigers!
