Hi all,
Pre-season Training has begun at the club, all players we have spoken to think it is great to be back at the club, with the chance to have a drink and a meal after training. If you see any of the boys around let them know about it Tuesday and Thursday from 6.30pm. There is two weeks of training left prior to xmas.
As usual we have a fair few players training up at the Jets and they are still coming down to Norths training as well, which shows great commitment.
The club is gearing up for a very big year in 2013 and have started to organise functions etc. Shane and the committee have seen the need to bring the players together after 2 years away from the club.
For those that couldn’t attend the combined old boys golf day was a great success teams from Norths, Goodna, Fassifern, West End, Rosewood and Laidley attended with over 130 former or current players hitting out at Rosewood golf club. The money raised will go to those clubs old boys organisations to help foster junior rugby league in their clubs. I must thank Old boys president Ernie Wright for a job well done, while on the old boys come down to the club on a Friday and have a beer with a few raffles, we have meals and entertainment, a good way to catch up before Christmas.
Please see the information below in regards to Ipswich State High School. As you are aware we have entered into an agreement with both ISHS and Cronulla Sharks that will be mutually benefiting both the clubs and the school. ISHS are putting together a great program and I encourage any player if they want to get a great education while being able to study and play the greatest game of all to check it out.

Ipswich State High School Rugby League Academy 2013
The Ipswich State High School has relaunched the successful Rugby League Academy, which will see the program supported by Cronulla Sharks of the NRL from 2013.
All prospective students are invited to participate in an “open training session” and a “group allocation” trial to determine playing standards and groups for the following academic year. The training session will also give the student and parents the chance to sample the environment they will be in should this be the course they choose. At the very least, it gives each child the opportunity to train and play a game of footy during the off season!
The open training sessions and trials will be held at The Ipswich State High School as follows…..
Training and trial Year 8 and 9 for 2013 academic year – Monday 3rd December 3.30pm
Training and Trial Year 10, 11 + 12 for 2013 academic year – Wednesday 5th December 3.30pm
We are now inviting enrolments for the Academy at all year levels. If you know of any budding NRL stars who may benefit from the program, please encourage them along to the trials, or to contact Lee Addison on the school number 3813 4488 or mobile 0431 529 202.
We can register players for the trial on the day
Remember, this event is open to all current and POTENTIAL students. We are hoping to take the program to greater heights in 2013 and beyond.
