After drawing against Brothers in the opening round, our A-Grade side proved too good for West End, winning 32-20. The win was set up with a strong first half, as the boys lead 32-4 going into halftime.

Reserve Grade opened their season with a 30-20 win over West End.

This week Norths play at home for the first time, taking on Fassifern in A-Grade and Reserve Grade. Our Second Division side take on Redbank Bears at Swifts on Saturday.

Last week Scott Johnson was named in the Reserve Grade team, however he instead made his A-Grade debut at centre in place of Brendan Marshall. Norths forward Gerico Cecil, who debuted for the Ipswich Jets Queensland Cup side last year, made his comeback from last year’s season ending injury as well.

There’s just one change then to this week’s team, with dual premiership winning forward Tim Newton playing his first game for the year after missing the opening two rounds due to “personal commitments.”

Our Under 19s have a second consecutive bye. They will finally kick off their season next week against Valleys Dragons.
