IRL Finals Week 2 2015 – Team Lists

Last weekend A-Grade thumped Goodna 56-24 to earn the first place into the Grand Final on Sunday 20 September. The scoreline would indicate there were plenty of highlights, but possibly none more so than one of Norths’ favourite sons Tim Newton pouncing on a loose ball and running 30 meters (though Tim will tell you 50!) to score and remove any excuse for a nudie run on the 20th September back at Norths.

Well done Timmy, though I’m not sure if you’ll be able to keep your clothes on that night anyway.

Our Under 19s were made to work hard to beat Valleys Dragons in an elimination semi, keeping all the supporters and coaching staff biting their nails right into the final seconds. After finishing third the Tigers had to knock off the Dragons and then face the loser of Brothers (1st) v Eastern Cobras (2nd), to get into the Grand Final. Eastern Cobras beat Brothers 36-24 last week to secure their place in the grand final on Saturday 20 September. The Tigers will be looking to join the A-Grade side in the Grand Final day action and will be weary of a Brothers side licking their wounds.

Grand Final Day on Saturday 20 September will be a big one for the club. The day will start with the Grand Final Breakfast at Norths Leagues Club, and of course end with an after-party after the grand final. More details will be posted in next week’s team lists.

Up the Tigers!

A lackluster interchange forward who was part of the victorious Norths Tigers 2014 IRL A-Grade premiership team. Illustrious achievements include "Most Versatile Player Award" in Under 18s and was once named "player's player".
