Wolfpack‘s Heine Voorn took out the Female Best and Fairest while Cubs star Jayden Conlon took out the Male Best and Fairest Award.

The victorious Cubs team, who defeated Blue Birds in the Grand Final

The Redbacks beat Deep Threat 8-5 to take out the Division Two Grand Final.

The Tigers looked unstoppable this season however their last regular round match saw them fall to their first loss of the season to the second placed Kangawallafoxes. The ‘foxes had been flying under the radar and finished the table with the same amount of wins, losses and draws as the Tigers (6 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw) however the only thing separating the teams was one try in the for and against column.

The Tigers will take on the Blue Birds, a clash that will be familiar to both teams given their local Ipswich Rugby League rivalry. The Blue Birds have only lost one more game than the Tigers, so will be confident of knocking over the “minor premiers,” however will need to ensure they are on their best behavior with the referee so to not lose any crucial players at key moments.

While in the other 1st Division semi final, the Kangawallafoxes will take on the Cubs. This Norths juniors outfit have plenty of speed and evasion and have scored plenty of points this season, however it could be a different story in a tight match, something these young boys aren’t used to. The Cubs are certainly a confident outfit, however sometimes this “confidence” has provided opposition teams opportunity to score easy points.

In the Second Division competition the Redbacks finished just ahead of the Bradburys while Deep Threat and Wolfpack had seasons they’d probably like to forget. However the regular season counts for nothing now in these knockout stages.

The Redbacks will take on the Wolfpack, a team they had helped throughout the season when the Wolfpack were down on wolves. Without the extra subs the Wolfpack could struggle, however if last week is anything to go by the Wolves might have a chance if the Redbacks turn up at the wrong time again!

The Bradburys have probably had their best season in a few years, managing to win 2 games, draw 1 and finish with a for and against of just -1. They will fancy their chances against Deep Threat, however will have to stop the Threat’s evasive girls from scoring too many 2 point tries.

It’s going to be an entertaining semi finals series this Monday 8 December. Come on down and support your teams!

A reminder that grand finals will be played on the following Monday, the 15th December. All teams will have games, as there will be play-0ffs for third place in each division.
